The need for utility-provided digital access to standardized energy consumption and billing data is critical for commercial, industrial, and institutional building-energy managers; solar and real estate industries; the heating and cooling sector; and residential customers who want to understand and manage their energy usage. The demand for easy access to standards-based, highly-accurate, and single-format energy, natural gas and water usage data continues to increase as new building efficiency reporting requirements and decarbonization goals are now in effect across multiple states and regions.
Green Button Connect My Data is the proven, digital data access and -sharing standard to support grid modernization, digital transformation and customer engagement strategies for utilities, third-party solution providers and state and province-wide roll-outs. Adherence to the standard is essential to ensure customer data privacy, faster on-boarding of solutions and seamless interoperability and scalability of platforms, applications, and services.
